one year after I was born. I was alive when Jim Crow laws still existed. Neighborhood covenants still existed keeping African Americans from certain areas. Racial profiling still existed. A cop pulled me over and questioned me as to who's new car I was driving. When I showed proof it was my car he said, "You don't look like you can afford a sports car". When I went house-hunting for my first home in 1995, I was steered to Black neighborhoods. I won't go into banks redlining black communities but taking their deposit. Drugs laws enacted to incarcerate minorities, crumbling public school systems, etc. If you think discrimination and oppression ended with the Civil Rights bill of 1964 then you are sadly mistaken.
