Systemic racism

This is not my original work, but it resonates with me.
As you mentioned below, racism is not about hate - it’s simply the belief that one race is superior to another and actions based on that belief.
Given that definition, let’s start with the fact that black men are incarcerated at 5x the rate of white men in this country.
I see only three possible explanations (if you can provide others, I’m glad to listen):
1) Chance
2) Systemic racism
3) Black people are in some way inferior to white people.
Chance seems very unlikely given my understanding of probability.
Therefore I either have to believe systemic racism is the cause, or I am racist.
You can say it’s because of poverty. Or drugs. Or whatever. The question always come back, though, to why do more black people live in poverty. Or why is drug use more prevalent? Or whatever.
It’s the systems that we created (as mentioned by HSCoach: banking, real estate, education, policing, employment opportunity, USDA farm loans, etc. And, yes, even highways.) that lead us to where we are today.
