People like to identify with people similar to them. It is inherent and natural, so we have to go against natural instincts to not.

When black people have 13% of the population they have to cater to the other percent to have success in stuff.

White people don't have to do that.

Our privilege is in that we are surrounded by like people more often than not and therefore don't have to fight our natural instincts (which we can overcome with enough exposure).
