as a slave and I'm white. Grew up living in a trailer house being referred to as trailer trash. That's another part of American history. Asians and Jews today are victims of hate crimes. That's part of American history.
There is more opportunity in America to overcome adversity and rise out of poverty than anywhere else on Earth which is why Hispanics flood into the country. That's part of American history.
What holds people back is more culture than anything else. Cultures that value education and the nuclear family do better. I didn't sit around whining about my ancestor being a slave or growing up in poverty. Only a loser would do that.
