If you mean to say that it would "greatly correct the economy" and in that correction that were would be short term economic pain and suffering, then you would be slightly down the correct path.
And you are right, it will likely not happen, because too many people have vested interests in perpetuating the criminal enterprise. Additionally, the alleged limited govt types (who should represent the opposition to govt overgrowth) are essentially complacent and not willing to take the drastic positions that are necessary.
