companies making decisions, how exactly am I not defending the free market?

I will always defend the free market from the most basic starting point. I will never allow myself to defend a bastardized version of the free market because of considerations that have to be "practically" given in light of an overreaching government that has its hands in basically everything.

Sorry you don't see it that way.
