barely adequate, not a sign of good. The 20 win benchmark arose back when there were fewer games played and there were fewer teams in D1, which meant fewer cupcake wins.
It is not reasonable to say "________ did a good job because his team won 20 games" without having some serious exceptions to context. This upcoming season for MU would be one of those exceptions. If Martin wins 20 games, you would have to say he did a good job in the context of that one season. It would arguably be his first at MU, arguably the second.
My expectation for Cuonzo Martin has not changed since before the discussion of hiring him even came up. He'll generally produce competitive Mizzou teams, but he will never produce great Mizzou teams, and even "good" teams will be rare and very arguable.
But back to context, in 2021 16-10 was not a good season....in 2022, considering the massive restructure that had to take place, we probably have to consider 16-15 as somewhat of an accomplishment.
