next step.

last year's team was senior-laden and barely stumbled into the tournament, mainly because cuonzo martin had successfully wrung all of the production out of them that he possibly could. he took a bunch of low-level talent and got them to perform way above their skillset.

his assistants don't get enough credit but they really grew into their roles too. i think as a coaching staff they're really firing on all cylinders, which you'd expect from a program heading into its 5th season.

now that he's been able to shed that dead weight and upgrade the talent, this team should be ready to compete for the SEC title. anything below a 4th place finish would be a pretty big disappointment, especially considering what he now has to work with.
