Endorsements cannot be used to influence college decisions under the proposed rules. If Nike tried that and got caught, those players wouldn't be able to play, which would damage their marketability.

Of course, it'll happen to a degree, but your particular scenario seems unlikely to me. Or at least no more likely than it is already.

I also remain unconvinced that it would necessarily be a problem. The great teams we remember decades later were usually stocked with elite players.
