$900,000 per year.
Drinkwitz, whose resume is about a decade behind Pinkel's at the time of hire, will earn about $4 million per season.
The financial side of college athletics has exploded in the past two decades.
I can understand people who hate that college sports have become big business, but it's been that way for a long time, more so now than ever. Coaches have benefited tremendously. Administrators have, as well. Networks are raking in cash. The athletes, for the most part, have not benefited at all, aside from possibly having nicer lockers or workout facilities.
So unless someone's been bemoaning the way money has been "ruining" college sports for a couple decades now, I personally find complaints about player pay ring hollow.
