and admittedly not always, is science tests itself. Meaning scientists always keep researching and experimenting for better and better explanations. Ideals held as the truth in the past have been discarded.

Religion is much more rigid. It resists testing new ideas as that tends to bring destruction to that faith when it fails. Such people who question are labeled apostates or heretics with a long history of them being executed for questioning.

What happened at or before the Big Bang is not know, and very well never be knowable to science.
