It's the wanting that's the hardest part. ha ha. It could be wanting/craving anything. Sex and money are just easy targets. Wanting/craving are the problems, the objects of the desire not all that important.

Why would Siddartha Gottamma claim to be a God.

He merely said that suffering exists and that there is a path to relieve oneself of it. He DID say - do NOT take his word for it, do NOT trust in him, but find it for yourself. Follow the Dharma.
