were delighted that a "wise latina" was confirmed to the court because she brings a different set of experiences to the court. Maybe the most absurd statement regarding the SCOTUS i've ever heard.
And if the nation was divided, shouldn't the court have been as well? Should we not count or discount, the votes of justices in 1850 if they did not see civil rights the way we see them in 2019?
There is no political or judicial position where diversity of thought, ideology, or demographics is LESS IMPORTANT than on the supreme court.
Why and how would a wise latina interpret a constitutional question from 1850 differently from an old fat white guy?
What value do life experiences have for sitting in judgement of legal writings? I say virtually none at all.
