That includes some losing seasons-- in 05-06, they went 14-17 but averaged more than 12,000 a game, good for 23rd in the entire country. In 1994-95, they went 7-20 and 0-12 in their league but averaged more than 10,000 per game.

Obviously, I had to look those numbers up-- not trying to seem like the resident Dayton expert. But they're recognized in college basketball as having an amazing and loyal fan base, and that's a big reason why they host the First Four.
I think Dayton is a better job because Dayton is an incredible basketball job-- not because it's an indictment of Mizzou. I'd pick Dayton over most of the SEC, except for Kentucky, Florida and possibly -- possibly -- Arkansas.
