Having a bad hire and seeing the contract thru to fruition is not "giving up on basketball". That's a narrative that Fiji has promoted and it's completely and utterly stupid.

We took a chance. That chance hasn't worked out. However, seeing it through the end of this year or even for another year isn't giving up on the sport. It's financially very cheap. It may be short-sighted because damage takes years to repair or because you end up paying more (because you have to overpay for the next coach), but it's simply not giving up.
