1. He's cheap.
2. These are his players from here on out.
3. There may not be a great hire available to MU after the season.
4. Sets a coach-friendly precedent for attracting a great coaching hire...I.e. Mizzou shows patience and doesn't knee jerk on coaching changes
5. Allows current NCAA investigation to clear
6. Staff can fill 2-3 schollies for next season and won't have to recruit as "dead men walking"
7. If KA's contract is not renewed, new coach will have some upper class men on the roster with experience.
