successful teams run. He doesn't have the talent to run it successfully. I could implement John Wooden's pyramid of success but if I don't have Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton on my team, it won't do a lick of good.
He won at the D2 level because he had more talent. He wasn't outcoaching anyone. Sure he outscored a NIT level Mizzou team for a half with a D2 program playing what was basically their superbowl (a game against the best program in the state). That's not proof that he can do this at this level. You want to know why Bill Self running the same high/low offense that Kim tries to is successful? Because he has WAY more talent. You want to know why Tony Bennett running the pack line defense is way more successful than Kim? Because he has way better talent.
Kim has not proven in even the slightest that he can take marginal talent and coach them up. I know the continued hope is that "once he get his players" things will be better. That was the hope last year and again is the hope this year. I just don't see it based on 60 games of actually watching Kim coach and recruit.
