You can substitute Simpson for Booker. Simpson played every game for us for two years.

In essence, the statement you made and all the numbers you gave were wrong. And really, his original point is well taken. Initial rankings are only part of the story. Enrolled rankings are different, as is performance from those rankings.

That same class also had:

Jeremy Maclin
Tim Barnes
Pig Brown
Castine Bridges
Jared Perry
Kevin Rutland

Besides:

Sean Weatheroon
Danario Alexander
Tommy Chavis


And other guys that got on the field, like Del Howard and Simpson. Those guys became part of the foundation for some very good things that happened to the program.

It wasn't Pinkel's best class, but far from a bust, either. And I don't think we ever signed that many two-stars again.
