When he was a candidate for MUs opening he had never coached a team that appeared in the AP ranking in any week. Certainly if Haith was a questionable hire based on his body of work at Texas and Miami then Self would have been a huge illogical leap.

You can come up with whatever arbitrary cutoffs and exclusions you want. That is misleading, and dropping bad seasons from any coaches record makes them look a lot better.
