Snyder proper guidance early on, we would probably regard him as the greatest coach in Mizzou athletics history.
I understand the argument that maybe we shouldn’t have hired a guy that needed guidance, but I have always subscribed to the idea that a school like Mizzou must hire the next great coach a year before everybody realizes he’s the next great coach or similarly, shortly before he’s completely seasoned.
The single, biggest mistake that Mike Alden made at Mizzou, before his FU decision of hiring Kim Anderson, was that he allowed Snyder to hire a young sleazy recruiting hustler to replace Tom Hammond, when what Quin needed was a veteran coach to help him through the xs and os and program management side of things.
