When he was pushed out, he had a solid roster with Dooling, Grawer, Hafer, Albert White, Gilbert, Rush...
Now that i'm an older man myself, i realize that the Quin hire was absolutely ridiculous. He was way too young to be the head coach at a major program. He had early success, due largely to Norm's guys listed above, and was able to get few good recruits due to early hype that quickly faded away.
Anderson was just what we needed at the time. Too bad he left and ruined his career.
Haith was the hire that dropped Mizzou into the toilet bowl. Can't say if Haith was the cause, or if the Haith hire was the culmination of Mizzou's earlier decline. Perhaps the failure to get Painter and settling on Haith was MU coming to terms with where they really stood.
Every hire since Haith has been a desperate attempt to get back to where we were in the 90s.
