increased tax revenues was an example of a tax hike by republicans...that's what started my input on this thread.

A tax hike implies that individuals earning the same year over year end up paying more with the tax hike...increased percentage of same income.

Tax revenue increase can be due to many things, including a tax hike, but in this case there was no tax hike, it was other factors that caused overall revenues to go up.

If you got a raise during a democratic presidency that pushed you into a higher tax bracket would you say that's a tax hike? Of course not, but you'll be paying more and contributing to an increase in tax revenues if that occurs that year.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
