with the huge buyout probably gave him another year. Especially with UW's financial situation. Losing the huge ticket draw that would be the #1 player in the nation likely sealed his fate. Losing Porter Sr. wasn't necessarily a guarantee to lose Junior. UW could have not release him. But to keep him they would have kept their terrible coach and fight a bunch of negative publicity for not releasing him. The easier path was likely to just to fire the terrible coach instead of fighting to keep Porter Jr.

I know you hate Cuonzo. That was clear when we hired him. But you don't have to pretend like he played no role in getting Porter and just got lucky.
