Porter's reps and Cuonzo's. This wasn't Cuonzo being hired and Porter all of sudden being available. Cuonzo was sure that Porter Sr. would take the job before he was hired and Romar was still employed by Washington when that decision was made. Porter's decision to come with Cuonzo undoubtedly hastened Romar's demise. I've been told by people on the Missouri side that Romar was going to be retained until Porter left. UW is deeply in-debt and paying Romar's $3 million buyout was not something they wanted to do if they could still attract fans next season. When the main attraction for fans next season (Porter) left, they had no choice but cut him lose.
