The Porter's indicate a desire to come back to Columbia with Cuonzo and the behind the scenes stuff is started. UW gets wind of this and the prospect of losing the #1 recruit and main crowd draw is the nail in Romar's coffin.

The timeframe of Romar's firing backs this up IMO. UW's season ended on the 8th. Why would you wait a week to fire him unless there was some reason to wait? It gave UW absolutely no advantage to wait a week to start it's search.
