romar had already proven that he could lose with top talent. the new class coming in wasn't going to change that at all. it would just be another wasted year of wasted top talent. that's why he was fired. it wasn't out of short-sighted fear that one recruit might be having second thoughts.
pat forde assumed that romar would be retained. he clearly didn't know what he was talking about.
your porter/martin/sterk conspiracy doesn't make any sense. the ONLY way UW loses the #1 recruit is by firing romar and releasing MPJ. if UW was concerned about keeping MPJ, they would have done the exact opposite of what they did.
