My own food, water and air. I got lazy and count on the government to do that for me.
I imagine that for a few tens of thousands of dollars I could have a small laboratory in my home that constantly monitors the oxygen, and that permits the testing of meat, produce, grains and milk before consumption. I could do water test every hour or so to make sure the water in my home was safe to drink and not contaminated .
I wouldn't be able to have a job, of course, inspecting food water, and oxygen would take up too much time. And of course, I would train the entire family on marksmanship, gun handling, boxing, tae kwon do, and karate because I wouldn't want to count on government security and police forces to help me in a crisis.
I could certainly do a manual inspection of all roads I plan on traveling to make sure bridges are safe, the roads are intact and un encumbered.
Likewise, I could personally check every airplane that I'm going to go on. Make sure the engines were tuned properly. The safety features were operational, the pilots have been adequately trained, and the food there was safe to eat and the water to drink. I certainly have gotten lazy.
Only a socialist needs government to inspect, detect and protect them from life's little problems.
You're not a socialist, are you mat? You do all this stuff yourself and don't rely on government to do anything at all for you. Isn't that correct?
Or are you just another preachy liberal hypocrite?
