You live on the ocean, with palm trees? Then expect a tropical storm, a hurricane. If you can't afford to rebuild home yourself, then move.

Old movies used to show people with a beach shack. Now, thanks to the feds, beaches are lined with multimillion dollar mansions.

The people in NC, Tenn forgot that the mountain streams are notorious for having huge flood surges.

2 or 3 feet of water will always cause flooding, but in a mountain environment where water isn't absorbed, just picks up speed and goes to the channel? Dangerous.

our society has forgotten these ugly lessons.
