to play baseball: in the driveways and in the sandlots. Soccer first countries play soccer all the time, everywhere. You develop ball skills that way, passing, striking, bending. The team skills that become automatic (drawing players offsides, coordinated D etc) is learned at an ealry age from people that have played all their lives...our kids learn from 9-5 dads that have time to coach, that learned soccer 10 yrs ago. Our kids only play/practice during prescribed hours a few nights a week. It's amazing we are competitive at all.
