Archeologists contend that at some point a charismatic nomadic tribal leader that folk tales would come to know as Moses. There was no 40 years of wandering the desert following the defeat of a great pharaoh by this charismatic figure. It would only be after these extended nomadic clans merge with the existing Canaanites that some would eventually emerge out of that community as some form of a Yahweh cult to become over time the Israelis.

Elohim and Baal were the deities prominent in that period.

I bring this up if the Jews like to call their literature as historic accounts, we should turn to actual history as a check on that.
