any ability whatsoever, part of their Steele interview would be assessing the man's credibility (in addition to the information that he provided.) It would be pretty difficult to reach the conclusion that Steele's information was "sufficiently credible" if they deemed him to be "not credible" (i.e. if they caught him in a lie - his information would be case in less of a light.)
