Trump, according to the Mueller report, repeatedly sought to get McGahn to create an INTERNAL (aka government) document that stated that Trump never instructed McGahn to fire Mueller.

Trump repeatedly constrained McGahn from "testifying truthfully", which was what was examined by Mueller.
