Perhaps, but that would hardly be reason for people to avoid trying to proclaim the truth. A lot of people thought Columbus was insane for betting his life and his crew's lives on the idea that the earth was round rather than flat. Those who first proposed germ theory as a cause of disease were ridiculed as well... similar examples abound.

I didn't bring it up, paleojas did, mocking faith, and you certainly agreed with him about how irrational it is (in your opinion, of course). I just pointed out that the opposite is actually true, faith is rational while believing, without any evidence whatsoever, and contrary to reason, that "there is no God" is in fact the irrational viewpoint. If you do not want people to discuss faith, then perhaps you shouldn't publicly take pot shots at it.
