"You fail to accept that nations are simply a collective ofpeople with the right to determine the rules they choose to live by."
Again, this is not a right that exists. Nations don't act. And the people who live under the crush of the US federal govt have no say in the "rules they choose to live by", unless you happen to be one of the 0.0001% of elites that actually make the rules.
You refuse to accept something that is basic to human culture and has been for most of recorded history.
The US jurisdictional borders (the ones which you sanctify and hold up as enclosing a single culture) are constantly changing, and did not exist 250 years ago. What is this recorded history non-sense have to do with these recently drawn imaginary lines?
I don't think you understand what the melting pot theory is. It does not force us to accept everyone who washes up on our shores. It simply suggest that those we take in become part of our collective culture.
It appears it is you that does not understand the melting pot. "Become part of our collective culture" isn't a melting pot; it's forcing people to conform to a presently existing culture. Melting pot means that many other cultures are added and perpetually added to create an amalgamated culture. You're not for that. You're for conformity and conserving status quo, not a melting pot.
