Just like in Hollywood, most people can't stand a sad ending. Thus, the creation of religion.

Humans need to feel special. Religion is the ointment that does that. I don't believe in God because any application of logic prevents it.

Human beings are not special. We are just tenants on the Earth and some day we'll be evicted.
