i didn't know any of the people that died, so it's tough to feel any 'real' sense of trauma from it. people died in a horrific way... but that stuff kinda happens probably daily, and i don't feel any connection to those people.
but to hear someone's fear, and the operator being almost as helpless as the person calling. i dunno, it just adds a bit of 'connection' to the person calling. like you almost get to feel a bit of the terror they were feeling when they called.
it's very eerie.
