I could not discern from what was posted that he meant budget cuts to departments. Budget cuts mean fewer staffers and/or likely fewer contractors. It can also mean neither; it can mean that initiatives are no longer funded and labor remains the same. For example, if DOT has fewer funds, they may cut staffers, or they may not fund bridge and road repairs, or both. That's what I'm trying to say.

I do not believe this will ruin the country. I will maintain, until proven otherwise, that we're ****ing in the wind cutting people if SS and Medicare are not addressed in a meaningful way. The Federal workforce has varied between 2 and 2.4 MM over the last 25 years, yet our national debt is ballooning. It is my opinion that SS and Medicare are the primary drivers.

If you have additional information, or even anythign to the contrary, I'd like to hear it.
