assistant for Dean Smith (Norm was a very good coach - but that ain't close.)
One was a D1 assistant for the decade prior to getting his first D1 HC job; the other had not been involved in D1 basketball for 15 years. By being involved in the D1 game, ole roy was at the top of the recruiting game - a HC job was a natural transition. Kim was recruiting transfer players at cmsu - he didn't have the same connections that roy had (as a UNC assistant.)
To say that ka was more prepared that ole roy is simply laughable. Kim was not a viable candidate for a major D1 head coaching position. This hire was just some "trueson" nonsense. It's time for the purge.
