Goshdarn, I hate to defend ole roy, but his preparation was 10X Kim Anderson's. roy williams was the lead assistant for one of the best coaches in the history of CBB for a decade, prior to getting his first HC gig. Williams was recruiting top tier D1 basketball players - his transition to a D1 HC position was a natural move.

Conversely, Kim was out of the D1 game for a decade and a half. Are you really saying that working for Norm Stewart looks better on a resume than working for Dean Smith?
