Big fvcking difference. As others have pointed out, every single coach you listed was more qualified than Gates.
Gates was hired by an AD who serves on the board of a DEI advocacy group!... Why can't you acknowledge that his skin color was a major factor in his hiring?
I mean, that's the entire point of "DEI"... to hire and promote people based on racial & gender identity, rather than actual merit. Is that a good thing, or not?
