Yes, he had a much stronger resume.

Better results in a more competitive conference, and multiple round-of-32 appearances in the NCAA tournament. He went 32-4 his final year at Buffalo.

Why are you in denial of the fact that Gates was an *obvious* DEI hire? I mean, isn't DEI supposed to be a good thing?... a little "makeup discrimination" for injustices of the past, right?
