More specifically, a violation of the federal
Civil Rights Act which prohibits racial discrimination for hiring practices.
So... if DRF had actually *admitted* to the obvious – that Gates was a "DEI hire", she would have incriminated herself and the university, and been subject to civil rights lawsuits.
Unfortunately and rather inexplicably, civil rights laws are not enforced when the discrimination is against white people.
However, that's slowly starting to change, and a growing number of corporations are cancelling their racist anti-white DEI policies. Walmart is the latest example:

As it turns out, hiring and promoting people based on their skin color is bad for business... not to mention it creates extreme resentment among a company's work force.
