Of where would Cook be if Odom was still coach ? Would he be better, worse ? The key is the talent around him.
This is like GAT's mindless b*tching about play calling. All we know is that a particular play didn't work so our coaches, *all who have ever coached here* are clueless. He or in this case no one can say what play would have worked. Least of all him. This premise is in that same category.
If Drink wouldn't have recruited him out of hs, he does deserve props for developing him, or in this case finally realizing that a dedicated OC and QB coach is the way to maximize Cooks talent which he's done
In summary I'd say there where or are too many variables that have to go into this. I'm satisfied with Cooks development as you probably are. Would Drink have recruited him and judged him to be a kid we could win 11 games with in '23 as a junior ?
Also I wouldn't be surprised if Macon wasn't someone Drink took a little bit of a chance on in order to get in the good graces of the coach at East St. Lou
