While he has consistently landed "highly rated" QB recruits, none have come close to contributing, or even challenging for playing time, in any tangible way for MU.
Is Drink terrible at identifying and evaluating QB talent? Is he bad at developing QB talent? Or has he just had a remarkably consistent run of bad luck?
QB signees under Drink:
- 3* Brady Cook - while technically a Drink signee, was recruited by Odom and by all accounts was always going to be a Tiger no matter who the coach was
- 4* Tyler Macon - lots of hype but never really played, transferred to Alcorn St
- 4* Sam Horn - tons of hype, has played a few series in mop-up duty, currently injured, future status TBD
- 4* Gabarri Johnson - never played, redshirted, transferred to Oregon State
- 4* Jake Garcia - highly touted transfer from Miami, never played, transferred out to East Carolina
- 3* Aiden Glover - will be a freshman, future status TBD
- 3* Drew Pyne - transferred in from Arizona State, future status TBD
- 3* Harold Blood - transferred in from Southern University, future status TBD
- 5* Matt Zollers - unsigned commit will be in the '25 class, future status TBD
