Tennessee:
2024 - Chattanooga, NC State (neutral), Kent State, UTEP
2023 - Virginia (neutral), Austin Peay, UTSA, UConn
2022 - Ball State, @ Pitt, Akron, Tennessee-Martin
2021 - Bowling Green, Pitt, Tennessee Tech, South Alabama
2019 - Georgia State, BYU, Chatanooga, UAB
In 5 years, they played a single road game non-con and it was at #17 Pitt who they had in a home-and-home. Neutral site games the past 2 years against ACC teams.
Georgia:
2024 - Clemson (neutral), Tennessee Tech, UMass, GA Tech
2023 - Tennessee-Martin, Ball State, UAB, @ GA Tech
2022 - Oregon (neutral), Samford, Kent State, GA Tech
2021 - Clemson (neutral), UAB, Charleston Southern, @ GA Tech
2019 - Murray State, Arkansas State, Notre Dame, @ GA Tech
The only road non-cons Georgia has played in those 5 years is because they have an in-state rival from a major conference. Otherwise it's been home games or neutral sites, with plenty of rummies.
We're not UGA, and I hope we're on our way to passing UT. If we scheduled one of kansas/Illinois/KSU/Nebraska/Iowa State every year as either a home-and-home or neutral game, and then played a 1AA and two scrubs at home, our non-con would be right in line with what UT and UGA are doing.
And we'd be very smart to do so.
And we wouldn't have to apologize for it.
