Their OOC was a joke and they did not deserve a bid. And those other schools don't either. And there was no playoff in the Big 12. The record padding was to get to a bowl 95% of the time. That was the goal. So playing entertaining and meaningful out of conference games had nothing to do with playoffs like it does now.

It's putting your playoff hopes in your own hands and not hoping that Texas beat Michigan or Alabama beat Wisconsin or A & M beat Notre Dame. Again, do you really enjoy that garbage every single year? At least the Big 10 has put an end to the FCS.
