think over what you are suggesting here. The parade route runs a mile through downtown KC. You cannot barricade and control enterance for that distance. You cannot search hundreds of thousands of people spreadout over square miles of space. How many storefronts and businesses are along the route? How are you going to secure each of those.

Even if you nixxed the parade and just had the rally the area to cover from Union Station to Penn Vally Park would be very difficult to police.

We cannot fix the world. You either accept the risks and attend or stay home. I suspect many families will choose option #2 next time. Sad but true.
