It does not describe how atoms came into existence, so that an electron can drop from a higher than normal orbit to a normal orbit producing a photon (light).
The text specifically describes the earth already in place covered with a sea. Atoms already exist. In the earth there are luminescent rare earth elements that give off light. The text describes a watery deep, yet does not describe what keeps the water from freezing solid. There was no sun for 3 more days according to your interpretation so any source of warmth is not in the text.
