My position was a revelation by God to me and I excepted it by faith but being a history teacher plus attending church at Northwest Bible church that was attached to Dallas theological seminary I studied scripture in depth. When you do that you become an apologist as well so you are always reading something contrary to what you have been taught. My graduate work was in Middle Eastern Studies where I learned a lot about the culture of the area dating back to all known histroy at the time. Time is always the disputable subject. Dating when things happen used to be very difficult but is getting easier and that is why the events described in the Bible seem to be supported by time frame supported by Archeology.
