Why must I define the standards?

I am not an expert in the area.

Does a person exhibit the maturity/mental capacity to make decisions on his/her own ability to consent to sex? That is what it is about.

General clues would be around their ability to make decisions around other adult like situations....ability to drive, gain employment/earn money, etc.

Since there is a lot of gray area in that, I would suspect an expert likely would be needed to determine if it was consensual versus rape. Age is a good starting place from a population standpoint, but cannot apply to the individual.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
